Front Page Template
What it's for: Displaying your website's homepage - the main landing page that visitors see when they first arrive at your site
When it's used: When someone visits your main domain, clicks "Home" in navigation, or lands on your homepage through search engines or direct links
What you can design: Your complete homepage layout - hero sections, featured content, service overviews, testimonials, call-to-action sections, or whatever elements represent your site's main entry point
Appears when: The WordPress front page (homepage) is visited
Examples of when this template appears:
- Someone types your domain name into their browser and lands on your homepage.
- That's your Front Page template.
- Or when someone clicks "Home" in your navigation menu - they see your Front Page template.
What dynamic data is available:
You have access to site-wide data and any content you want to feature
- site title and tagline
- featured posts or pages
- recent blog posts
- custom fields and metadata
- navigation menus
- contact information
- any content from across your site
You can create dynamic homepage sections that pull in your latest posts, featured products, testimonials, or any other content from your site automatically. Learn more about using dynamic data →
What you control:
Everything on your homepage - hero sections, featured content areas, service descriptions, testimonials, contact forms, navigation. You design the complete first impression and main entry experience for your site visitors.
Doesn't affect:
- All other pages - blog posts, static pages, and archives use their own specific templates
- Blog index - if you have a separate blog page, that uses the Blog Index template
Template Priority: 10
This template has default priority 10 in Builderius template hierarchy. This is high priority, ensuring your custom homepage design takes precedence over theme defaults and general templates.
Note: When you design a page or post directly (without using templates), that design always wins regardless of priority numbers. Learn more about designing pages directly →
